Vancouver, BC – December 13, 2017, Corex Gold Corp. (TSXV: CGE) ("Corex" or the "Company"), is pleased to announce that at its recently convened Annual General Meeting gold industry legend and Canadian Mining Hall of Famer, Chester Millar, was elected to the Company’s Board of Directors.
In the early 1970s, Mr. Millar pioneered the use of heap leaching to process low-grade gold ores and demonstrated the success of the method at several open-pit mines in the Western United States. He helped introduce heap leaching to Latin America by writing a technical book on the subject in Spanish that was well received by mining engineers and other interested parties.
Mr. Millar is one of the mining industry’s most successful company builders. He facilitated the transformation of both Glamis Gold and Eldorado Gold from junior exploration companies into substantial gold producers with global operations. Mr. Millar also contributed to the early growth of Alamos Gold and Castle Gold, both gold producers in Mexico, and has provided guidance to many other junior companies.
"We are excited to have Mr. Millar join our board and provide his insight and guidance that has shown to be transformative for many companies he has worked with during his storied career." Stated Doug Ramshaw, Corex Gold President and CEO.
